One out of every 10 children will be sexually abused before they turn 18. WUSA in Washington, D.C., is hosting a free workshop that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.
WUSA, Tegna’s CBS affiliate in Washington, is conducting a free workshop at the station this Saturday morning from 10 until noon designed to empower adults to help prevent child sexual abuse.

The workshop titled, Darkness to Light, includes evidence-informed training designed to influence positive community behavior change. Participants will be certified “Stewards of Children” and will leave with the fundamental tools to take action and help protect the children in their lives.

“The Darkness to Light training is a perfect example of how we can amplify an issue, inform our audiences and help provide the tools to make a difference,” said Michael Valentine, WUSA’s general manager.
