Car ads are responsible for about 35% of most local TV stations revenue. Buying a car is probably the second most costly purchase most people make next to a house. And many people have strong emotional attachments to cars. Yet, as my wife complains, local car ads tend to be emotionless and loud. I know that many local TV stations write and produce ads for local dealers. I imagine there’s a good story to tell at every dealership every day when someone buys a new or used car.
