Lucky for us, old TV shows never die. They live forever on national network channels like COZI TV. For old-time TV watchers, it’s great to see the characters we grew up watching. And for younger TV watchers, it’s a surprising discovery, like watching TV history.
So how do you get viewers to watch iconic programs like I-Spy, Maverick, Magnum P.I., Marcus Welby, M.D., and Make Room for Daddy?
“We focus on the shows,” said Meredith McGinn, SVP of the COZI TV Network and LX.TV Productions.

“And joke about them in the now.” Using well-known NBC news and entertainment personalities is also key.

McGinn says when Jimmy Fallon had Tom Selleck on his Late Night show a while back, Fallon asked for the COZI poster of Selleck as Magnum to tease Selleck.
COZI, from the NBC Owned Television Stations, launched in January 2013. In addition to its well-known shows, COZI also airs a wide-range of movies on Friday nights and weekend afternoons.
McGinn said the network has had success in primetime by finding shows that are not over-exposed, like The Avengers. In addition to airing The Avengers and other shows that may be new to a new generation of TV watchers, McGinn said COZI also looks for series that people may not have seen in a while, like Maverick.

McGinn says COZI viewers want “familiar TV, with easy to love characters.” Hour-long dramas with lots of episodes work best.
