Are New Yorkers rude? Several major magazines and newspapers think the residents of New York City are the most arrogant and boorish in the country. So the folks at WPIX, the CW affiliate in the Big Apple, decided to put New Yorkers to the test as part of a weekly social experiment they’re airing in the morning news called, The Living Lab.
Vas Mountzouros, WPIX’s manager of creative services, sent this promo and the story the station did to see whether New Yorkers are deserving of the reputation as being The Rudest of Rude People of America. The promo was produced by Allison Cheng.
Here’s an old one from an area that may be the friendliest in the country, New Orleans. This is from WDSU starring yours truly along with my wife and two daughters. We also voiced the rap.
Don’t forget to send me your May sweeps spots. Here’s what I need — a YouTube or Vimeo link to any examples you want to share, along with a short explanation about it if you want.
I’ll share one of mine everyday as well. Look for more examples every afternoon.
For competitive reasons, it might be best to submit only those promos that are already on your air. Make sure you get the permission of station management.
My email and phone number are at the top of the column.
