Anchors and reporters at the Hearst-owned ABC affiliate in Boston are challenging each other, the Boston mayor, Boston police, local sports celebrities and viewers to accept the “Ice Bucket Challenge” as a way to raise awareness and funds for ALS research.
WCVB on-air personalities took the cold water drenching themselves to show their support, spurred on by the former captain of Boston’s College baseball team, Pete Frates, who was diagnosed with ALS two years ago.
