The Valley, the teen reality show produced by WBDT, LIN Media’s CW affiliate in Dayton, Ohio, aired its first episode on Sunday night up against some formidable competition: NBC’s Sunday Night Football and CBS’s 60 Minutes.
“The premiere generated one of the highest ratings on Dayton’s CW during that time period in the last two years,” says Joe Abouzeid, WBDT general manager.
The Valley garnered a 1.8 household rating, a 260% increase from the previous syndicated program airing in that time slot. Multiscreen household ratings were a 2.9 when including viewers who watched The Valley both on-air and streaming online.
The Valley follows six high school graduates from Dayton, strangers thrown together for the summer, as they prepare for the next big step in their lives.
