In the wake of what happened in Ferguson, Mo., this summer, WAVE, Raycom’s NBC affiliate in Louisville, Ky., is asking what exactly people should do when pulled over by the police.

And should police patrol the street in tanks? Maybe not, but many police departments are getting and using military gear to keep the streets safe.
Jason Ruel, senior promotions editor at WPRI, LIN’s CBS affiliate in Providence, R.I., sent this promo along with his thoughts in creating it.
“It was a conscious decision not to show guns in the promo. It would’ve made the spot too over the top and would’ve colored people’s judgment before they watched the story.”
And check out this 60-second super tease that aired prior to sweeps from WFTV, Cox’s ABC affiliate in Orlando, Fla. The spot not only effectively promotes some upcoming news stories but also works to solidify the station as the place on the dial that does important investigative reports.
