My post the other day about a promo that aired in the Super Bowl using excerpts from a 47-year-old speech by Robert F. Kennedy generated quite a few likes and comments on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Most thought the spot was well done. One thought it was the best local news promo he’d ever seen.
The story also generated this response from Chad Larsen, promotion manager at KSL, the NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City owned by Bonneville International.
I enjoyed your article on station news promos within the Super Bowl. Here are a couple of image promos we ran during the game. We wanted to feature people from all across Utah doing the things that make it such a great place to live. Some of the people are station talent and local celebrities, the majority are clips sent in from viewers. It’s a fun project that we will continue updating every couple of weeks. Enjoy!
The song is Back Home, from Andy Grammer.
First, the original version of the promo, then the two versions which aired during the Super Bowl.
