Sometimes creative services directors or producers send me new spots they’ve launched and sometimes I see new spots on station YouTube feeds.
And sometimes I see new spots here.
What I like about Don Smith’s blog is how readers can leave their comments.
Here are some new spots from around the country and I hope to see your comments.
Eric Swinderman, creative services producer at WEWS, the Scripps ABC affiliate in Cleveland, sent this spot.
“Our morning team is comprised of young, hip and yes, attractive professionals who live, work and play in Cleveland,” wrote Swinderman.
“We wanted to do a spot that reflected that. Wanted to share this with you. We think it’s a pretty cool spot.”
I saw this spot on IDoPromoz.
Then I found a new morning news spot from WPTA, the ABC affiliate in Ft. Wayne owned by Malara Broadcast Group, on its YouTube page.
KTVT, the CBS O&O in Dallas, just launched a new morning news campaign around the moniker Morning News All Stars.
In the first spot, KTVT used viewer-generated footage of what their mornings look like.
In the second spot, morning news talent surprise lucky customers at a breakfast drive-in.
In this creative spot, the weatherman’s forecast is so accurate, it’s as if he was in the clouds to see for himself. Gives new meaning to going above and beyond.
Sent by Donald Haener, KOLR’s promotion manager. KOLR is the CBS affiliate in Springfield, Mo., owned by Nexstar.
Haener says the spot effectively promotes one message, forecast first, and that it entertained, informed and included the entire weather team.
