Erik Roner, host of Outside Television’s show, Locals, died yesterday in a parachuting accident in California.
In honor of Roner, Outside Television will air Locals tonight from 7 through 11 ET.
As host of Locals, Roner traveled the world sharing the hidden gems of outdoor activities not found in guidebooks.
“There are no words that can express this tremendous loss to the Outside Television family,” said Rob Faris, Outside Television’s VP of programming and production.
“Our hearts go out to his family.”
Roner, a professional skier and avid BASE jumper, was also known for being part of Nitro Circus, an MTV show centered around freestyle motocross rider Travis Pastrana and his crew of extreme sports athlete friends.
Nitro Circus ended in 2009 after two seasons. Nitro Circus Live, on which Roner also appeared, aired on MTV2 for four seasons until last year
