If you’re a Spanish-speaker living in the New York Tri-State area, you’re probably saying, just in time, as a major blizzard is being forecast for the East Coast this weekend
La Autoridad en El Tiempo (Weather Authority), is now the new brand of WNJU New York’s weather team. WNJU, which brands itself Telemundo 47, is the Spanish-language outlet in a duopoly with WNBC, both owned by NBCUniversal.
The team provides in-depth weather information and forecasts for the Spanish-speaking audience and includes three weather anchors on duty morning, noon, nights and weekends.
As communities in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut prepare for a winter storm, the new up-to-the-minute weather coverage will including breaking weather news alerts, school closures and road conditions. During non-severe weather times, La Autoridad en el Tiempo will continue to provide viewers the weather forecasts they need to kick-off or continue their day.
In addition to providing weather forecasts on Telemundo 47’s local newscasts, the station’s meteorologists and weather anchors will also provide viewers with weather forecasts while they are on the go with digital platforms including the station’s mobile and apps.
