The May sweeps are over, and many TV station marketing execs are looking forward to attending the annual PromaxBDA Station Summit at The Mirage in Las Vegas June 21-24.
PromaxBDA has already released the list of finalists up for the PromaxBDA Local Awards and Market Share has shared some of the Tribune station entries, and entries that featured music from Warner Chappell Production Music and Stephen Arnold Music.

I got an email from Lance Goddard, a producer/director at TVO, Canada’s public-funded educational TV operation serving Ontario (it operates CICA Toronto and CICO Ottawa).
He sent me all the links for the 15 nominations. Plus, the names of all of the people who were responsible for the work. I usually don’t get into that much detail but since Goddard went through the trouble, I’ll include the names as well.
“You interviewed me about one of my promos that was a finalist a few years back,” wrote Goddard.
“I read your articles and thought that I would pass along some information about our station’s finalists. TVO is a public educational television and media outlet in Ontario, Canada. We run on tight budgets and try to get the most out of what we have. That makes it very gratifying when TVO was one of the top individual stations when the finalists were announced. TVO has 15 promos named as finalists in 13 different categories. It is by far our most successful year ever in competition. Over the past eight years our station has won 21 Promax awards, and we are very hopeful to add to our collection of trophies!”
