WCIU, an independent television station in Chicago owned by Weigel Broadcasting, has announced they are launching a new morning show that will air weekdays from 6 to 8.
Although no date has been set for its launch, it is expected to be sometime over the summer.
WCIU says The Jam will feature “a combination of local and national headlines, unique weather coverage” and “promises to be bold and unfiltered.”
“The Jam will wake you up, feed you the news of the day and drop an explosion of pop culture in your coffee,” said Steve Bailey, WCIU’s head of programming and creative.
“We’re going to move you and shake up your day in ways no one else is doing in Chicago.”
The hosts of The Jam will be Jordan Cornette, Felicia Lawrence and Danielle Robay.
Cornette played basketball at Notre Dame and is a co-host and commentator for a Chicago radio station and several national sports channels.
Lawrence, a native Chicagoan, was an intern at WCIU, and worked as a television anchor/reporter in Charlotte, N.C.
Robay returns to Chicago, her hometown, from Los Angeles where she worked for several national entertainment shows and television stations.
