Stability and continuity in management ranks are almost always the traits found in successful businesses. But it’s especially true for TV stations, where turnover tends to be endemic.
He had been the assistant CSD to Jason Holloway, who was recently named creative services director of KMBC, Hearst Television’s ABC affiliate in Kansas City.
Both start in their new positions on Monday.
“His experience, energy, and operational excellence make him the perfect fit for this job,” said Hank Price, WVTM’s general manager.
Todd said he’s excited about the promotion and that the culture at Hearst is such that if he ever has a problem, he’s not afraid to ask for help.
“This station is a special place with a great team,” he said. “We’re excited to continue our growth as we work to become the most trusted source for news and weather information in Central Alabama.”
Todd graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2007 with a BA in media studies with a focus in film and Television management.
He began his broadcast career at WFMY in Greensboro, NC. He was a member of the creative services team at WCCB in Charlotte, N.C., before joining the management of WXII in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Examples of Todd’s work have been shown throughout.
“I worked on all these in some capacity–editing, producing, etc,” said Todd. “We really work as a team at WVTM and I think that’s what sets our stuff apart.”
Here are a couple of longer-form videos from Todd, the first a recruitment pitch for the station.
