TV stations in almost every market write and produce TV commercials for the station’s clients, and many of them are creative, memorable and effective.
It’s one of the valuable services stations provide for their advertising customers.
The clients’ businesses grow, keeping them coming back to local TV to advertise.
In a Market Share column last week, I highlighted a classic commercial from 33 years ago that is still being used today, the Victory Auto Wreckers spot.
The creative services departments at TV stations write, produce and edit these commercials. So if your station has some it’s produced that you’d like to share, please let me know and tell me all about them. My email and phone are always displayed at the top of every column.
Here are a few from WJXT, an independent station in Jacksonville, Fla., owned by Graham Media.
David Waters, WJXT’s commercial production manager. sent these along.
Most of the time, when you watch a commercial from a home security company, they show a criminal breaking into someone’s home that doesn’t have home security.
But this commercial shows that the peace of mind you get from having home security is just as important when the intruder is imaginary.
Waters, says the inspiration for this spot was provided by the client from another spot he’d seen, but WJXT modified and customized it to make it their own.
“Still, the client was very happy.”
The response from the client according to the sales account executive at WJXT was: “They are beyond happy!! Never heard the client so excited EVER!”
“We have had good feedback from the other clients as well as we are still doing their production,” says Waters.
These were all shot with a Sony FS700.
