Since 1989, WRAL has collected more than 162,500 coats and raised $2 million to provide winter clothing for Salvation Army families. “For 30 years, WRAL, along with our outstanding community partners have worked hard to serve the needs of our neighbors,” said Joel Davis, WRAL’s general manager.
Capitol Broadcasting’s NBC affiliate WRAL Raleigh, N.C., is once again collecting warm winter clothing, money and new toys for Salvation Army families in need.
This annual community service campaign, presented by Jiffy Lube and Chiesi Pharmaceuticals, is one of WRAL’s signature events.
Through Dec. 31, WRAL invites the public to donate new or gently used coats and new toys at participating Jiffy Lube locations.
“For 30 years, WRAL, along with our outstanding community partners have worked hard to serve the needs of our neighbors,” said Joel Davis, WRAL’s general manager.
“The annual Coats for the Children campaign serves to do exactly that — meet a critical community need. All donations, which include toys as well as coats, will help ease the burden for our neighbors in need.”
“Keeping children in our community warm through the winter months is a top priority with the Salvation Army,” said Major Stephen Long of the Salvation Army.
“We are thankful we have been able to help accomplish this through our now 30-year partnership with WRAL.”
