WTAE, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, takes a look at how the Tree of Life synagogue shooting sparked a movement toward unity across western Pennsylvania and the world.
Chronicle: Project CommUNITY, airs tonight on WTAE at 8.
The program also confronts the racial tensions that exploded after the controversial police shooting of Antwon Rose, exploring the incident through the eyes of people who see “a different Pittsburgh.”

Chronicle: Project CommUNITY is part of the station-wide initiative, Project CommUNITY, to confront the divisions in western Pennsylvania and shine a spotlight on those bringing people together. WTAE has committed to producing weekly news stories and special programming, focusing on community issues.
“The goal of Project CommUNITY is simple: work to better our communities. It’s only when we understand what divides us, that we can draw closer to the common ground that connects us,” says Wolfertz.
