With the addition of WDRB News@5, WDRB will produce 9.5 hours of local news on weekdays, and 64 hours of local news a week. “We will be adding six to eight new people, taking our newsroom to over 100 people, the largest television, radio or newspaper newsroom in Kentucky,” said Bill Lamb, WDRB’s general manager.
WDRB, the Fox affiliate in Louisville, Ky., owned by Block Communications, announced that in September, the station is adding an hour-long newscast, WDRB News@5.
WDRB News@5 will be anchored by veteran journalists Elizabeth Woolsey and Scott Reynolds.
Reynolds makes the move to WDRB after anchoring newscasts in Louisville for 22 years.
“I have watched tremendous growth at WDRB over the years,” said Reynolds. “The level of journalism in this newsroom is unmatched. Nobody is doing the kind of in-depth stories and covering the Louisville area like WDRB. I am thrilled to be part of this team.”
“We hired the best anchor in the market who wasn’t already working for us,” said Bill Lamb, WDRB’s general manager.

“Only a handful of stations in the entire country are doing more than 64 hours of news, and even fewer can accurately claim that every newscast is No. 1 or No. 2.”
