This past week on TVNewsCheck’s Media Job Center, Cox’s Fox affiliate in Boston (actually the station is located in Dedham, Mass., an important distinction as you’ll see), placed an ad for a “creative” (its emphasis) senior producer.
WFXT, the Cox-owned Fox affiliate in Boston, needs a senior producer who will oversee daily topical promotion and take charge of the station’s nightly social media marketing. The station wants someone with abundant ideas, married to a positive attitude and strong work ethic. The senior producer will be in charge of the daily topical promotion of WFXT’s newscasts on all platforms, on-air, on-line and on-the-go.
You’ll work with news managers to organize daily content delivery from the field, for evening newscasts and late newscasts. And you’ll work with newsroom and talent on increasing Boston 25’s social media presence to reach more viewers. Additionally, this role will include contributions to branding and image campaigns, community initiatives and support for all creative services projects.
Keep in mind that while WFXT is Boston’s Fox affiliate, the station itself is located in Dedham, about 20 miles from downtown Boston. So if the thought of living in a big city like Boston intimidates you, you can live and work in a historic suburb with 14 parks, excellent shopping and dining while Boston proper is still just a quick train ride away.
If you’re a city dweller and like the fast-paced vibe of a major, historical city, Boston proper is just a quick train ride from Dedham. Boston covers nearly 90 square miles (harbor included), but the wider Boston region, contains dozens and dozens of other towns and communities. Boston is the Red Sox, the Bruins and Harvard, one of the area’s many colleges and universities, and Boston Harbor. Tons of places to eat and explore.
