On Tuesday, KPRC hosted more than 264 staff, friends and fans in the upper deck of Minute Maid Park to execute two card flip stunts between the 3rd and 4th innings of the game to celebrate their 70th anniversary.
KPRC is Graham Media’s NBC affiliate in Houston.
No less than 15 KPRC news anchors, meteorologists, sports anchors, and reporters were there at Minute Maid Park before and during the game, not an easy feat given their various schedules.
Leading up to the game, KPRC hosted a contest on the station’s Facebook page for Top Fans to win tickets, selected by random draw, to the event along with a chance to rub elbows with many of their favorite on-air personalities.
More than 15 anchors and reporters, 60 Top Fans and nearly 200 KPRC staff, friends and family participated in each of the 45-second stunts.
“We’ve had such a great time celebrating 70 years of KPRC 2 firsts,” said Jerry Martin, KPRC’s general manager.
“What better opportunity to celebrate another first than with more than 250 of our favorite people – our viewers.”
