According to U.S. News & World Report, Atlanta, Georgia’s capital, is attracting newcomers from around the country, and people are looking to this part of the country for culture and commerce like never before. A dense tree canopy prompts Atlanta’s reputation as the “city in a forest.” The Chattahoochee River that traverses the metro area, and Stone Mountain, the world’s largest chunk of exposed granite, located just northeast of the city proper, also offer a quick escape from any urban anxiety.
Home to dozens of parks and gardens, miles of trails and an abundance of nature preserves and green amenities, Atlanta is best explored outdoors — this city actually has a higher percentage of tree coverage than the national average. The weather in Atlanta is comfortable nearly year-round, with mild seasons and an average annual temperature of 61 F.
The median price for a home is about $262,000 and rent will set you back about a $1,000 a month. Although it might seem overwhelming to move to a new city, especially one as large and diverse as Atlanta, it can be an adventure getting to know the unique culture of its many neighborhoods, restaurants, bars and social venues.
