WCVB, Hearst’s ABC affiliate in Boston, is airing a news special examining Boston’s traffic gridlock and why Massachusetts officials say it’s reached the tipping point.

NewsCenter 5 Primetime: State of Gridlock, airs tonight at 7:30 and is an in-depth look at the causes, the failures and the potential fixes to this gridlock and the daily frustration it is causing to thousands of commuters trying to navigate the pitfalls of public transportation and local highways.

WCVB’s award-winning 5 Investigates team spent months analyzing data involving traffic, the MBTA and Commuter Rail and other forms of transportation, and also testing different commutes to determine the underlying causes of the Bay State’s current state of gridlock.

WCVB’s Investigates reporters will delve into the factors contributing to this traffic crunch, the real barriers the MBTA is facing to provide reliable transportation, and the possible solutions on the table to make transportation in our state more tolerable.
