The 10 On Your Side Coats for Families drive, now in its 27th year, teams up with local businesses, nonprofits, churches, Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast and Entercom Radio group to make the mission possible.
Last year, the campaign collected more than 8,000 coats for Hampton Roads families struggling to stay warm.
WAVY News 10 evening and late-night anchors Anita Blanton and Tom Schaad support the campaign all winter long, starting in November and running until Feb. 9.
“Getting to meet some of the wonderful people who benefit from this effort, is truly special to me,” said Anita Blanton, WAVY News anchor.
“Coats for Families has always been one of my favorite campaigns. It touches my heart to see us come together as one Hampton Roads community working to keep our neighbors warm each winter and I look forward to doing it again.”
