WDTN’s 38-Year Food Drive Yields 13 Million Items

Since 1982, the Food for Friends campaign has collected and distributed over 13 million food items to families in need through The Foodbank of Dayton and other food pantries throughout the Miami Valley.

WDTN, Nexstar’s NBC affiliate in Dayton, Ohio, began its 38th annual Food for Friends campaign on Nov. 13 that will run through Tuesday, Dec. 24, with corporate partner Kroger.

Since 1982, the Food for Friends campaign has collected and distributed more than 13 million food items to families in need through The Foodbank of Dayton and other food pantries throughout the Miami Valley.

New this year, monetary donations can be made to the campaign by adding $5 $10 or $25 to your bill at checkout at Kroger stores.

“WDTN is committed to fighting hunger and supporting families in need in the Miami Valley,” said Joe Abouzeid, WDTN’s general manager.

 


WJTV, Nexstar’s CBS affiliate in Jackson, Mississippi, is looking for a director of sales.
