When it serves the greater good of the communities they serve, local TV stations will forget they’re competitors and join together to send a shared message.

Like the TV stations in Houston (DMA 8) are doing during the coronavirus crisis.

In a gesture of community solidarity, television stations KPRC (ABC), KRIV (Fox), KHOU (CBS), and KIAH, (CW) have collaborated on a public service campaign aimed at delivering a positive note of encouragement to Houston viewers.

In This Together is a three-spot campaign featuring a who’s-who of familiar Houston news anchors.

D’Artagnan Bebel

“This collaboration is so much more than just a promotional campaign,” said D’Artagnan Bebel, KRIV’s general manager.

“It’s about Texans coming together to help Texans. We are a vital public service and recognize that this crisis requires the unprecedented effort to maintain staff safety, while keeping viewers informed. Putting aside our competitive nature for the greater good is what Texans do.”

Robert Springer

“Houston has a dedicated journalism community,” said Robert Springer, KHOU’s general manager.

“For everyone who is tuning in, regardless of what channel you choose, we want you to know that we’re all working together and committed to delivering all critical information about COVID-19 while at the same time sharing the stories of hope and inspiration from our fellow Texans.”

Jerry Martin

“We’re all fighting the same fight alongside our fellow Houstonians,” said Jerry Martin, KPRC’s general manager.

“This unique effort gives a clear, unified message to our community, We’re in this together.”

KRIV, the Fox-owned affiliate in Houston, TX (DMA 8) is hiring a weekend digital content creator to be part of our next-level team.
