WLNE, in Providence, Rhode Island, and KLKN, in Lincoln, Nebraska, both owned by Standard Media, launched, ‘Who’s Hiring’, a free service to local companies and job seekers to help during the coronavirus crisis.
WLNE, the ABC affiliate in Providence, R.I., and KLKN, the ABC affiliate in Lincoln, Neb., both owned by Standard Media, launched a free service to local companies and job seekers to help during the coronavirus crisis.
Who’s Hiring, is an interactive portal providing an online clearing house of job openings in those markets.
The new service follows Standard Media’s March introduction in both markets of What’s Open in March, local directories designed to help area businesses share their latest operating hours and other important information as they continue to adapt to the challenges presented by COVID-19.
“We are all adjusting to new challenges as a result of the COVID-19 emergency,” said Deborah McDermott, Standard Media’s CEO, “and every day in our communities two of the most common questions being asked are ‘what’s open’ and ‘who’s hiring’? These initiatives help provide the answers so our viewers can find the services they need and, because we recognize the financial strain COVID-19 is putting on businesses and families, we are offering them at no charge throughout this time.”
TVNewsCheck’s offer to post free classifieds on its MediaJobCenter job board during the month of April has resulted in more than 50 ads at this writing. We can display only 30 of them on the home page at any given time, but to see all of them, scroll down to the bottom of the displayed ads and click on MORE/SEARCH JOBS. There are openings from large, medium and small markets in almost every category.
