WESH and CW18, Hearst’s NBC and CW affiliates in Orlando, Fla. (DMA 18), partnering with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, raised $1,106,195 during a telethon on Tuesday, April 20.
The WESH 2 Project Community: Day of Giving raised the equivalent of more than 4.4 million meals to be distributed throughout Central Florida communities. Viewers donated on WESH.com and feedhopenow.com.
“Second Harvest is grateful for the support of WESH 2 and the citizens throughout Central Florida for stepping up and donating in a big way,” said Dave Krepcho, Second Harvest’s CEO.
“Because of this drive, we can provide 4,424,780 meals for those in need.”
