In addition to the call-to-donate messages from the WCVB’s team of anchors and reporters, a wide variety of WCVB’s colleagues, entertainment celebrities, musical artists, sports legends and community leaders contributed their time and high-profile voices to the success of the week-long fundraising effort.

“The Project CommUNITY 5 X 5 Food Drive is by far the most successful single fundraising event in The Greater Boston Food Bank’s history and will help us strengthen the emergency food network and ensure that we can sustain our efforts in the challenging months ahead,” said Catherine D’Amato, The Greater Boston Food Bank’s president.
“Every donation makes an enormous difference in the lives of those who are currently trying to put food on the table,” said Bill Fine, WCVB’s general manager.
“The Greater Boston Food Bank works tirelessly in the fight against hunger and as their longtime partner, Channel 5 is honored to join with them at this time of great need.”
