“WBAL-TV’s ‘Project CommUNITY Virtual Food Drive’ will provide a vital source of financial support that allows us to aggressively respond to the need today, while also being there for Maryland communities for months to come,” said Carmen Del Guercio, Maryland Food Bank’s president.
In Baltimore (DMA 26), WBAL-TV, WBAL-AM and WIYY-FM, all owned by Hearst, raised a total of $1,306,279 to benefit the Maryland Food Bank, surpassing all other fundraising work ever accomplished by the three stations.
The Project CommUNITY Virtual Food Drive launched on April 13, and the funds raised will provide up to 3.9 million meals to families throughout Maryland.

“The need for food in our community is at an all-time high,” said Dan Joerres, WBAL-TV’s general manager.
“We are thrilled by the response we received, knowing that every penny goes to helping our neighbors.”
RNN has an opening for a “hands on” Broadcast Systems Engineer to support and maintain the master control and studio facilities located in Cherry Hill, NJ. Additionally, the Engineer would assist in maintaining RF transmitter facilities for the company. The Broadcast Systems Engineer will work under the direction of the VP of Operations.
