WDIV’s Vote 4 The Best contest has been a tradition for 15 years, and this year, the station was unsure whether businesses could participate because so many were closed due to the pandemic.
But as restrictions eased, the station decided to give it a go.
Almost a thousand new businesses joined the contest to see which ones would get the most votes in 15 different categories.
“Small businesses make up a big part of the heart and soul of southeastern Michigan,” said Marla Drutz, WDIV’s general manager.
“And it’s imperative that small businesses survive. We’re hopeful that these grants can help these businesses grow.”
