“South Florida viewers continue to choose 7 NEWS for coverage of the most important stories, like this historic election,” said Alice Jacobs, WSVN’s news director.
WSVN, Sunbeam’s Fox affiliate in Miami, dominated English language competitors’ election day coverage as the most-watched local station in multiple platforms from 7 p.m. to midnight in total adult viewers, according to the station.
The station claimed the No. 1 spot with adults 25-54, a demo coveted by advertisers.
WSVN also said it doubled its closest competitor in social media interaction and video views within key performance metrics.
Election coverage was led by South Florida’s longest running anchor team, while 15 additional reporters fielded live reports from Washington, Delaware and throughout South Florida.
“South Florida viewers continue to choose 7 NEWS for coverage of the most important stories, like this historic election,” said Alice Jacobs, WSVN’s news director.
“Our viewers are extremely loyal and know they will get the most comprehensive, compelling coverage from journalists they trust. “
