Creative Services, News And Sales Openings

New jobs posted to TVNewsCheck’s Media Job Center include openings for an assistant news director, a general sales manager, and a creative services photographer-editor for Sinclair, Quincy and Cox stations.

WJLA, Sinclair’s ABC affiliate in in Washington, is in search of an assistant news director, a leader who is a creative storyteller with a multi-platform aggressive approach to ‘On Your Side’ storytelling, breaking news and enterprising investigative news content.
This person works closely with the news director and the entire news management team to protect the station’s credibility, questioning the content, accuracy, and fairness of scripts and web stories.

WJLA’s street address is in suburban Arlington, Va. , about five miles southwest of Washington across the Potomac River. Arlington is the No. 1 best city to live in the U.S., according to 2020 rankings from Niche.com, and two Arlington neighborhoods are No. 2 and No. 3 on the website’s new list of the Best Places to Live in America.

Arlington is most commonly known for its strong public school system and its many national landmarks such as the Pentagon, the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, the Marine Corps Memorial, and the Arlington National Cemetery.

 

WSIL, Quincy Media’s ABC affiliate serving the Harrisburg, Ill.-Cape Girardeau, Mo.- Paducah, Ky., market, is looking for a general sales manager.  This person will be a hands-on, customer-focused teacher and leader who has multiplatform business development expertise.

The successful candidate is a manager with at least five years of TV experience and an excellent track record in sales leadership, customer service, team development, planning, inventory management, pricing and financial results.

Carterville, 100 miles southeast of St. Louis and 300 miles south of Chicago, is one of the best places to live in Illinois. The city is located next to Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge’s 44,000 acres of land and water contain a wide diversity of flora and fauna.

The candidate will work closely with the Creative Services Department to execute projects from concepts to completion. Visual storytelling, teamwork, problem solving, and creativity are prerequisites. Prior experience working with clients and producers is a must.

WFXT’s street address is in Dedham, about 20 miles from downtown Boston. So if the thought of living in a big city like Boston intimidates you, you can live and work in a historic suburb with 14 parks, excellent shopping and dining while Boston proper is still just a quick train ride away.

Boston Magazine named Dedham as one of the best places to live south of Boston. In Dedham there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. The public schools in Dedham are above average.
