WHNT, Nexstar’s CBS affiliate in Huntsville, Ala., needs a digital sales manager to oversee the daily operations of the station’s internet advertising business. Prime candidates will have a strong grasp of current digital marketing tools, strategies, and social media platforms coupled with sales competence and ability to lead integrated campaigns from concept to execution. Minimum 5 years’ experience in media and a track record of independent thinking, reasoned analysis, and problem solving under pressure. Click here for more specifics and how to apply.

U. S. News & World Report ranks Huntsville as the 11th best place to live in the country. Huntsville’s city center has undergone a renaissance in recent years. An outbreak of new construction downtown means more shopping, dining and apartment options are on the horizon. Just west of downtown, a defunct cotton mill became a bustling arts center, and craft breweries and bars have sprung up in a renovated old middle school.

Area restaurants offer everything from Vietnamese to German to Indian fare. More standard Southern fare, including barbecue joints and farm-to-table cafes, are also popular. Because the climate is warm most of the year, outdoor concerts and events are plentiful.

The downtown area hosts outdoor concerts, movies and food truck rallies almost every weekend (except in winter). Some of the quirkier events include giant pinball games, taproom music tours, and laser light and music shows.

Meanwhile, Monte Sano State Park is a favorite with hikers and mountain bikers. Boaters and water sports enthusiasts head to nearby Lake Guntersville and the Tennessee River.

KCCI, Hearst’s CBS affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa, is looking for a dynamic and experienced chief meteorologist to lead weather coverage. This person will guide a team of passionate meteorologists and be actively involved in the editorial process, setting the tone for coverage of weather events.

KCCI is looking for a person who is high energy and passionate about weather but can stay cool under pressure. This meteorologist will not only be dedicated to delivering life-saving information on-air but also interacting and connecting with viewers through digital and social media platforms. Click here for more specifics and how to apply.

Des Moines is ranked the 9th best place to live according to U.S. News and World Report, which listed Des Moines as one of the top five most affordable and best cities to live in and Livability.com calls Des Moines a millennial hotspot. Elegant Colonial and Tudor-style homes built in the early 1900s hide in quiet neighborhoods minutes from buzzy downtown, where lofts and condos draw the millennial crowd.  Many families with kids flock to the suburbs where new housing developments continually pop up.

And there’s plenty to do and see in Des Moines. Cultural events and festivals draw all ages to the downtown area. One-of-a-kind shops, locally owned restaurants and hip bars enliven entertainment districts. And a plethora of bike trails and parks (and even a few lakes) provide opportunities for outdoor recreation. The median price for a house in Des Moines is about $170,000 and average rent is about $800 a month.
