WLKY, Hearst’s CBS affiliate in Louisville, Ky., raised more than $1 million through several live-broadcast phone banks during WLKY News. That, combined with contributions on WLKY.com, will go directly to the Red Cross.

“WLKY is committed to supporting all of our Kentucky neighbors during this unprecedented time,” says Glenn Haygood, WLKY’s GM. “While we are proud to serve our communities with live, local, late breaking news updates as events unfold in Western Kentucky, we are driven to join our generous viewers and connect them to the people and families who need their help.”
WLKY has a goal of raising $1,500,000 and will continue to collect donations on-air during live phone banks and online for the Red Cross to help families affected by tornados.

KCCI has an opening for an experienced Technical Director for our station’s live, fast-paced newscasts.
