As Louisiana moves closer to legalizing online sports betting, WBRZ, Manship’s ABC affiliate in Baton Rouge, is betting heavily that programs dedicated to those who gamble on sports is the next step for the online sports betting industry to transition from advertising on local TV to programming there.
New jobs posted to TVNewsCheck’s Media Job Center include openings for a topical producer, a social video producer, and an assistant news director.
“There’s a story here about the importance of what we do, and the resiliency of the people that do it,” wrote Mark Klein, creative services director at KALB in Alexandria, Louisiana. “What’s been accomplished to broadcast life-saving information in Lake Charles and the other surrounding areas that were devastated by Laura is a testament to the strength of the individual stations, and how they’ve worked together under Gray to succeed against all obstacles.”
WVUE, Gray’s Fox affiliate in New Orleans, together with all the Gray-owned stations in Louisiana, are airing a series of concerts that will feature numerous artists based throughout the state singing from their front porches, living rooms, backyards, or wherever they find themselves quarantined.
