The set was designed by Devlin Design Group, an award-winning national set design company. Free Lance Staging, owned by Caleb Kennedy and located in Thomasville, North Carolina, was among the companies hired to bring the design to completion.
The Black News Channel, the nation’s only provider of 24/7 cable news programming created “by people of color for people of color,” debuted on Monday with set and lighting design by Devlin Design Group.
“This state-of-the-art set with the technology and venues allows us to take the audience into stories, weather tracking and get to the heart of what matters to Central Alabama,” says Susana Schuler, WVTM’s general manager.
WISC wanted Devlin Design Group to consider the future of news broadcasting when it came to designing the station’s new set. The design needed to showcase technology, increase production values, spotlight talent, and reflect the vibrant Madison, Wisconsin capitol city community.
