“As children, families, and seniors across the Heartland continue to struggle with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, many find themselves in the unfamiliar position of seeking emergency food assistance,” said Brian Barks, Food Bank for the Heartland’s president.

That’s because many travelers who may have been exposed to the virus are being quarantined at two locations in Omaha. “It’s not often that you have a midsize television market playing an important part in covering a global story,” said John Livingston, KETV’s creative services director.

All this week, Scripps TV stations are working directly with high schools in their communities to produce original pieces of student journalism. Here are some examples of that collaboration.

Last week on TVNewsCheck’s Media Job Center, ads were posted for open positions at the University of Rhode Island, WISH in Indianapolis, and KETV in Omaha.
