The 10 On Your Side Coats for Families drive, now in its 27^th year, teams up with local businesses, non-profits, churches, Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast, and Entercom Radio group to make the mission possible.

At WAVY, Nexstar’s NBC affiliate in Portsmouth, Virginia, one of their commercial producers created a spot for a local restaurant that led to a sizable increase in business. “Zak just hit it out of the park,” said Brian Radford, owner of The Butcher’s Son, a restaurant with two locations in the Chesapeake area of Virginia.

WAVY and WVBT, Nexstar’s NBC and Fox affiliate respectively in Portsmouth, Virginia, are launching their 10 On Your Side Operation School Supplies initiative tomorrow. Last year, more than 80,000 items made their way to 12 school districts across the area.

At the Promax Station Summit last week in Las Vegas, attendees filled the room for the session Zero Budget Magic, to see how imagination, and little more, is the only currency allowed in spots submitted from stations across the country. Here are all 40 of them.
