WXIX in Cincinnati has some new promos for its morning news that are upbeat and entertaining enough to watch over and over. What if watching the morning news helped you have a perfect day?
“Our community needs us now more than ever,” said Trisha Rayner, Freestore Foodbank’s VP of externa affairs. “A virtual food drive helps keep everyone safe. For every dollar we can provide 3 meals and $25 helps provide groceries for a family.”
On Memorial Day, May 27th, a record 18 tornadoes touched down in the Dayton area. On Thursday, May 30th, WXIX, Gray’s Fox affiliate in Cincinnati, produced a telethon to help the victims. “Though Dayton isn’t in our DMA, WXIX serves a great deal of the southern Dayton market,” said Dom Nardo, WXIX’s creative services director.
WXIX partnered with Cincinnati Bell and the Cincinnati Chapter of the American Red Cross to raise more than $45,000 for Hurricane Michael relief. “While watching the unfolding story of Hurricane Michael,” said WXIX’s general manager, “it became clear FOX19 NOW needed to become involved and send help to those suffering after the storm’s devastation. That’s when we decided to produce all-day coverage to support rescuers and victims of the disaster.”
