Chicago baseball fans for both the Cubs and White Sox can take a trip to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York thanks to a half-hour special airing live on WGN, Tribune’s CW affiliate.
Chicago’s Call to the Hall will air at 5:30 CT Saturday night, the night before former Chicago White Sox star Frank Thomas and former Chicago Cubs star Greg Maddux are inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Thomas played for the White Sox for parts of 16 seasons, winning two MVP awards. “The Big Hurt” was elected to the Hall of Fame last January on his first ballot with 83% of votes.
Greg Maddux began his pitching career with the Cubs and played with the team for 10 seasons. Maddux posted 355 wins and won the Cy Young Award four consecutive years.
The special will take viewers through each player’s career highlights, how Chicago played a role, and viewers will hear from the honorees themselves about being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
