WTHR, the NBC affiliate owned by Dispatch Broadcast Group, and Downtown Indianapolis announced today a new, exclusive, multi-year broadcast television partnership for Central Indiana’s most beloved holiday tradition, Circle of Lights.
More than 100,000 spectators attend the Christmas tree lighting kickoff held the day after Thanksgiving. Millions more watch the event on TV and take in the brilliant spectacle throughout the holiday season, lit through mid-January.
Travelocity named the Circle of Lights one of the top five “must-see Christmas trees” in the nation.
The Circle of Lights, presented by the Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW #481, showcases downtown Indy as a great place to live, work and play.
“Our commitment to serving our community goes far beyond reporting the news,” said Larry Delia, WTHR’s general manager, “so to partner on presenting such a wonderful celebration and family tradition is truly an honor.”
