On Saturday, June 28, 1969, members of the New York police department raided the Stonewall Inn, a known gay bar, touching off a series of spontaneous and violent demonstrations by the city’s gay community throughout the city. “The Stonewall riots were a turning point in our city’s history,” said Nicholas Veneziale, VP for New York Live, “leading to the growth of a worldwide pride movement which has inspired global change.”
This past week was a busy one on TVNewsCheck’s Media Job Center, as Cox, NBC, Gray and Insite Wireless posted ads for openings in sales, news, marketing and engineering in Chicago, San Diego, Columbia, Boston and New York, and one opening where you can live anywhere you want.
TV stations have been using helicopters to broadcast images from the air since 1958. And since then, stations have been marketing and advertising their choppers as part of their news brand. And as the aircraft have gotten more high tech, so have the promos.
