Martin Luther King III is asking the country to remember his father’s words about nonviolence in a new public service initiative.
“Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals,” says King III, son of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, recalling the words of his father.
The PSA was produced by Bounce TV in the wake of recent protests around the country following court decisions in Ferguson, Mo., and New York. King III is a founder and board member of Bounce TV, the over-the-air broadcast television network designed for African-American audiences.
“After Michael Brown and Eric Garner,” says King III in the video, “it’s important to remember his words, now and always.”
