I’ve written often about the challenges many TV station creative services directors face trying to find marketing writer/producer/editors, the so-called preditors.
A recent article prompted this from Pete Nikiel, the creative services director at KSLA, the Raycom CBS affiliate in Shreveport, La.
“I read your blog often. I saw where you recently wrote about a station using Craigslist to recruit for a producer position. We have just produced a recruitment video that we posted on Facebook. Thought you may like to see it.”
In talking to Pete, he says the video’s already been shared more than 50 times, including a share by the local ad council. Nikiel also says the video has had more than 45,000 views in just 24 hours!
Granted, many who may have watched are not going to be candidates for the opening, but one could argue that just watching the video is a chance to create a positive impression about the station.
Nikiel says he’ll keep us posted on developments.
