Sixty years ago, a postage stamp was 3 cents and a gallon of gas set you back 29 cents.
Sixty years ago, the Honeymooners started airing on TV, James Dean died in his Porsche in California, and Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama.
And 60 years ago, in 1955, WTVT, the Fox O&O in Tampa, Fla., began broadcasting as a CBS station.
Yesterday, WTVT celebrated its anniversary by airing a special video on its 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
WTVT ranks No. 1 in every local news time period in adults 25-54 and airs 61 hours of local news programming a week.
Congrats to WTVT.
