Imagine having a friend stop by your living room every day for 40 years.
That’s the legacy that Jack Williams is leaving as he retires from the WBZ news desk after 40 years. WBZ is the CBS O&O in Boston.
I admire anyone who has been working at one place for 40 years, whether it’s a factory, or an office. But to have connected with thousands of your neighbors every day on television as a reporter and anchor is especially meaningful.
Here’s how WBZ shared William’s retirement in its promotion and news coverage.
And celebrating another milestone at WBZ, the station produced a few messages for viewers to remind them that WBZ’s main anchor, Lisa Hughes, is celebrating her 15th year at the station.
While not the 40 years of William’s, Hughes is well on her way to having a similar impact.
Any time the mayor of your city takes a stand to single out one news anchor, that’s pretty special.
Kudos to WBZ for honoring the contributions of these two anchor/reporters.
