My wife says I watch way too much professional sports on TV.
So we came up with a compromise, which I’ll reveal later.
I watch professional sports because I want to see my favorite professional sports athletes compete.
Catch touchdowns, hit homeruns, score goals or sink baskets.
But there’s another competition involving these pro sports stars off the field that’s just as competitive, and just as dramatic, as the pro games.
In this competition, there’s trash-talking and back-stabbing. There’s gloating and baiting. Scores are kept and victories celebrated.
And when you watch this competition, it can be every bit as entertaining, wild, and unpredictable as any American pro game.
Because when the WAGS take the field, they play hard.
Meet the Wives and Girlfriends of Sports Stars, or WAGS.
Attractive women who’ve set their sights on wooing professional sports athletes into dating, love, marriage, divorce and whatever.
They’re sexy and attractive and they know it. They scout their men like team owners and coaches do. And then they go for the score.
I guess if I was a young, attractive woman looking out over the landscape of available, eligible, single men, I can see why they find these superstars so attractive.
They’re healthy and rich. Being athletes, they’re in great shape.
And the women on their arms can expect to travel to nice places, eat at fancy restaurants, go to the best parties.
There’s exotic vacations. Private jets. The best accommodations.
Where you can’t just be seen, but be envied. But it’s not all glitz and glamour.
So here’s the compromise my wife and I have come up with that seems to make sense to me.
She sits with me to watch my favorite pro team play and then I sit with her while she watches episodes of WAGS.
Watch new season episodes of WAGS, Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on E!.
