It’s estimated that more than 500,000 people in the area that Maryland’s Food Bank serves are “food insecure,” lacking access to sufficient amounts of nutritious food, which is a nice way of saying hungry.
Of that number, 180,000 of them are children.
Think about that a minute. That’s a lot of children in a small area that aren’t getting enough to eat.
So WMAR, the Scripps ABC affiliate in Baltimore, is teaming up with Columbia Academy, a private school system, and Maryland’s Food Bank, to help feed hungry children in the 2 Cans for Kids Food Drive all this month.
