WGN, Tribune’s CW affiliate in Chicago, will air a half-hour special, Stories of Hope: Facing Breast Cancer, Saturday night at 6 p.m. to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The special will feature survivor stories including an interview with singer-songwriter, guitarist and activist Melissa Etheridge about her battle with the disease.
Stories of Hope: Facing Breast Cancer will also feature new information about advancements in breast cancer diagnosis and innovative treatments, as well as regaining one’s life after a diagnosis.
The half-hour special will be streamed live on WGNTV.com.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer issues, especially the importance of early detection of breast cancer through screening mammography, clinical breast examination and, for women 20 years of age and older, breast self-examination.
