WYFF, Hearst’s NBC affiliate in Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville, S.C., took first place in the Associated Press Broadcasters Awards last week as Best Overall News Operation in South Carolina.
It’s the second straight year for WYFF and the 17th time in the past 19 years the station has won the award.
“I know our news team is dedicated to delivering the absolute best in local news coverage,” said John Soapes, WYFF’s general manager.
“To compete against the best stations in South Carolina and win speaks to the hard work and dedication of our staff,” said Bruce Barkely, WYFF’s news director.
WYFF competes against stations from the Carolinas’ largest markets including Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham and Greensboro/Winston-Salem in the RTDNAC awards.
In AP, WYFF competes against South Carolina stations.
